If your recycling or trash cart has a bad odor, rinse it out with ammonia and water.
If your trash or recycling cart has a crack or broken wheel, call the Plano Environmental Waste Services Customer Service at 972-769-4150 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to have it repaired or replaced.
The monthly refuse fee on the Plano Utility Bill is for residents not able to reduce their cart size from the current 95-gallon trash cart. These residents pay $16.10 per month. Those who reduce their cart size to a 68-gallon trash cart pay $11.25 per month.
Plano residents can dispose of bulky waste themselves by visiting the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) transfer stations and regional disposal facility. Plano residents must take their current City of Plano utility bill that reflects garbage (waste) services and a current Texas driver license with corresponding address for proof of residency. Two free drop-offs per month are allowed for each utility bill. A fee will be charged for extra visits.
As of January 2020, the items accepted has changed.
Disposal hours, locations and acceptable waste can be found under the Do It Yourself Disposal button on the Residential Trash page.
