Programs and Classes at Plano Public Library

Plano Public Library COVID 19
July 8, 2020- facilities closed for general use
Service Hours: Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and Sunday 1 - 4:30 p.m.

Current Services Available

  • 2 hour computer reservations, library card required, scheduled in advance, call us (instructions for process and schedule)
  • New library card processing takes 2-3 days from the time you apply online, and you will be contacted regarding your application
  • External Bookdrops for returns, items quarantined for 72 hours, expect some account delay, no impact to borrowing privileges
  • All items are checked out for three (3) weeks
  • Porch side pickup of materials (see process and times here)
  • Access to digital resources (e-books, e-newspapers, e-magazines, e-audio and databases)
  • Book a Librarian and Telephone Reference (email)
  • Online programs for all ages (Calendar)
  • Donations not being accepted
  • FAQ

Pick up Take It & Make It supplies each week. Take It & Make It activities support a STEAM Connections family activity, geared for “all ages”. Younger children can participate with extra help from parents/caregivers

Reading Readiness Storytimes

Plano Public Library offers a variety of age appropriate storytimes that teach early literacy and reading readiness skills for children. Watch our virtual Rhyme Time, Toddler Time and Preschool Storytimes. Learn how to teach your child Baby Sign Language, and use Library Make activities and Early Literacy Tips to help your child learn important pre-reading skills

Money Smart with Plano Public Library

Money Smart

Learn how to make smart financial choices that will prepare you for whatever the future brings. Tools for adults include connecting with a SCORE Mentor, virtual financial programs and money and financial resources from Plano Public Library. Teens can learn how far their paycheck will take them with the Game of Life. And parents can teach their children how to make financial choices with Money as You Grow - Children's Books and Financial Discussion Guides
