Plano Public Library COVID-19 Update: March 26, 2020

To help contain the spread of the Coronavirus or COVID-19 within our community, all Plano Public Library facilities are closed until April 27th, at which time the closure will be reassessed.

Book drops at all locations are closed – please keep books and materials you have checked out until we reopen. Access to digital resources will be provided even if your account has overdue items.

Hold service is not available. Items already on hold will stay in place until we reopen and you will not lose your place in line.

You can access our digital services including eBooks, eAudiobooks, magazines, newspapers, streaming video and online resources from home. For assistance using any of these services, please call your library Monday-Friday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. You can also email us your library question

Access the Library Online

During the health emergency, access to online resources will be provided even if your account has overdue items. Use your library card to download eBooks and eAudiobooks with Libby, Overdrive and RBdigital. Downloadable Magazines are available from Flipster and RBdigital and Newspapers through PressReader on RBdigital. Stream award-winning films for adults and kids with Kanopy. Use our databases to learn a new language, find information on businesses and learn new skills.

You can complete the 2020 Census online or by phone. The U.S. Census Bureau has toll-free phone lines in 17 languages and measures in place to assist those who speak other languages.

The questions are easy to answer (how many people live in your home, their relationship with you, ages, gender, race/ethnicity and whether you own or rent your home).

Every person counts and is important in determining representation in the U.S. House of Representatives, federal funding, education programs, health care, transportation, social assistance and more for Texas. Be sure to bring your letter from the U.S. Census Bureau with the code assigned to your address.
