The Cox Building Playhouse is a fully customizable, black box-style theater in Historic Downtown Plano with seating, lighting and sound setup to your specifications. The space is commonly used for receptions, recitals, stage plays, rehearsals, banquets, meetings and private parties.
The Cox Building Playhouse is located in the bottom floor of the Plano Independent School District’s Cox Building. The Cox Building was originally constructed as a high school in 1938 as part of the Works Progress Administration Project. Eventually the school relocated due to population growth. In 2005, the Cox Building was renovated and now serves as a Plano ISD office and home to the Cox Building Playhouse.
